This kettle sour aged with Pomegranate puree and Hibiscus flowers is a refreshing patio beer. Light bodied and aromatic, pink to violet in color with a floral and fruity nose. Flavor starts fruity with hints of raspberry and cranberry then becomes slightly floral and earthy. Finish is tart with a hint of tannin for a clean and refreshing end.
Rotating Kettle Sour series inspired by some of our favorite cocktails and fully loaded plenty of fresh fruits. What is a kettle sour? The sourness comes from the kettle sour method where lactobacillus (same bacteria used to produce yogurt) is added to warm wort in the brewhouse to sour the wort by producing lactic acid. After 2 days of souring, the wort is boiled and then a few special ingredients like pomegranate juice and hibiscus petals are added to the beer.
